BIO

Jordan Perry has solidified his reputation as a dynamic force in the Saskatchewan music scene and beyond, earning recognition as a skilled drummer, versatile producer, and prolific songwriter. Now, Perry takes the next step in his artistic evolution with a bold, self-defined project that distills his wide-ranging expertise into a singular, cohesive vision. His latest single, “Professor Ex”, showcases a synth-soaked, rhythm-driven sound that pairs infectious melodies with intricate instrumental textures, leaving no sonic stone unturned.

Combining the unmistakable energy of the ’80s and early 2000’s wrapped up in glossy, modern production, “Professor Ex” is a vibrant blend of synth-driven soundscapes and rhythm-forward production, anchored by Perry’s signature voice and melodic sensibilities.

“I’ve always had a deep love for the sounds of the ’80s,” he says. “Sci-fi movies, pop hits, and video games from that era have shaped my creative DNA. "Professor Ex" is a launch pad for further exploration into this realm."

A culmination of years spent delving into the depths of pop music and aesthetic, “Professor Ex” marks a turning point for Perry. As both its producer and sole creative force, he sees the single as a platform for deeper artistic exploration. “This feels like the first time I’ve been able to tell my own story,” he explains.

Perry’s extensive career includes accolades such as a Canadian Independent Music Award nomination and features in Sick Drummer Magazine, Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, and CBC Radio Canada’s Ici Musique. His collaborative work spans a diverse range of artists, from JUNO-winning Indigenous icon Chester Knight, Canadian Music Week (CMW) showcasing artist Shayla Souliere, and BreakOut West performers Vikki Minor, Beau Nectar, ADEOLUWA, and Rooky Kamiz—recently awarded Afrobeat Artist of the Year (Sask Music Awards 2023) and Global Artist of the Year (Western Canadian Music Awards 2024). Perry’s contributions also extend to supporting SMA performer Halle Ponton and SMA nominee Theo Noble, among many others.

In late 2024, Perry was selected for the prestigious Canada’s Music Incubator Artist Entrepreneur West program, an initiative that brought together talent from across Western Canada. Through this program, Perry expanded his understanding of the Canadian music industry while sharpening his skills as a performer and collaborator.
